Digital Commerce

Connected digital experiences that help businesses present, sell and manage their products and services.

What belongs here

Digital Commerce covers the work required to present, sell and manage products or services through connected digital channels.

Where this family ends

What belongs to another part of Oridian.

Where this ends and Technology & Automation begins

Digital Commerce owns the commercial journey and the customer-facing revenue operation. Technology & Automation owns the custom systems, integrations and automation that may support it. One implementation can involve both; they are not equivalent.

Which systems a commerce engagement runs on

Commerce engagements may use Oridian products, client-owned systems or purpose-built technology depending on the operating requirement.

Quality, control and evidence

Commercial validation from catalogue to transaction.

Each engagement defines its acceptance criteria, responsible roles, proportionate review and required evidence before delivery begins. Confirmed errors within Oridian's original scope are corrected without additional charge, with correction targets determined by impact and engagement conditions.

Commerce work is controlled through approved commercial data, validation of catalogue and inventory behavior, tested checkout and payment states, documented system ownership and a recorded launch decision. The level of reconciliation and ongoing operational control depends on the engagement.

What the client approves
The client approves prices, descriptions, policies, tax information and other commercial source data. Oridian is responsible for implementing the approved information correctly within its scope.
External platforms
Oridian coordinates and evidences incidents involving external platforms within its contracted responsibility, but does not guarantee the availability or resolution of providers outside its control.
Technology in the engagement

Technology supports the engagement. It does not replace the service definition.

Which systems the work runs on is decided as part of the engagement. Using Oridian's own infrastructure to deliver a service is not the same as the client adopting a product.

  • Client-owned systems

Oridian can deliver work within the systems a client already uses when those systems can support the agreed operating model, access requirements and delivery controls.

  • Oridian operational infrastructure

Oridian may use its own internal platforms to coordinate, control and evidence service delivery without turning the engagement into a software purchase by the client.

  • Oridian products

An organization may separately adopt an Oridian product when a repeatable platform fits its own operating requirement; product licensing and full platform information belong in Products.

  • Purpose-built technology

Oridian may design or develop technology for a specific requirement when existing systems and available products do not adequately support the required operation.
